Emailing photos using Yahoo Photomail

Photomail makes sending pictures easier with:

1- A drag and drop attach tool, (makes attaching photos very easy.)

2- Unlimited storage space for photos

3- Links to larger version of photo, so friends don't have to download large file.

Uploading Pictures to Email

Type www.yahoo.com in the address window of your internet browser.

Click on Sign In

Enter your ID and password

Select Photos (picture of the camera) near top of the screen. Or if there is no picture, click on photos in the menu

Click on Create New Album

The days date will come in as a default name, type in a title for the album (Something that will help you remember what is in the album.

Select the level of privacy. Select by clicking in the round circle next to the option.
Private - only those who are invited by e-mail can view the album. This is the default.
Public - anyone in the world can view your photos, they will come up when someone does and "Images" search.
Friends - only those people with Yahoo id's who are listed in the box can view them.

In addition to the upper three options you can also choose to limit the age of viewers to those 18 and older, and add printing restrictions - meaning others can view the pictures, but not print them.

Scroll down and click on Continue at the bottom of the screen.

Selecting Photos

Click on Select Photos

A window with your photo files will come up. (If the one you are looking for is NOT there, you can type in the file name you would like.)

Select photos by double clicking on them, or drag and drop into the large white box. They will be transferred and you will see the file name listed.

Selected photos will appear in the box.

Click on Continue

Uploading Photos

This screen will appear while your photos are being uploaded.

Sending Photos

When upload is complete, the following screen will appear.

Three options:

1- View the album you just created

2- Share it through email. Send a note to a friend who can then access your album through their computer.

3-Order prints. Select to have them mailed to you, or pick them up at Target.

To e-mail pictures to a friend, Click on Share Album

Click on compose email

Type in the email address(es), the subject, a short note, and your name.

Scroll down and click on Send.

The recipient will receive an email message with a link to view your album. By clicking on the link, they can view your pictures.

Adding Photos

To add photos to the album created, click on Add Photos

To make a new album, click on Create New Album.

Attachments

You can attach files to an e-mail message in a similar manner.

Open your e-mail account (pages 1,2 of this handout)

Click on Compose to send a message.

Fill in the To, the Subject, and the message fields.

Click on Attach Files

The following screen will appear.

Click on a browse button.

A window will appear listing all files on the computer.

If the file you want is not listed, click on the down arrow and find the correct folder/file.

Select the file you want by clicking on it. The file name will appear in the File Name: box. When it does, click on Open.

It will then appear next to the Browse box.

Click on Attach Files.

You will then see a Please wait while your file is attached screen.

When it is attached, you will see the following screen. You can remove the file, or return to the message you are sending.

Click on Continue to Message

Make any changes to your message.

Click on Send.
